30th - A Grasshopper Warbler was at Portishead Lake Grounds.

29th - At Clevedon today there were 4 Mute Swans, 3 Canada Goose, 35 Shelduck, 2 Little Egrets, 12 Oystercatchers, 17 Ringed Plover, 4 Lapwing, 95 Dunlin, 46 Whimbrel, 4 Curlew, 5 Redshank, a Common Sandpiper, 3 GBB Gulls, 30+ Swallow, a Cetti's Warbler, 5+ Reed Warbler, a Willow Warbler, a few Chiffchaff and 6 Linnet.

28th - A Wood Warbler was found behind the Salthouse pub at Clevedon today.

26th - A count at Clevedon at high tide produced 12 Mute Swan, 4 Canada Goose, 2 Teal, 20 Mallard, 3 Little Egret, 1Kestrel, 6 Oystercatcher, 7 Ringed Plover, 1 Grey Plover, 3 Lapwing, 48 Dunlin, 5 Bar-tailed Godwit, 24 Whimbrel, 2 Curlew, 3 Redshank, 2 Common Sandpiper, 15 Herring Gull, 4 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 2 White Wagtail, 3 Wheatear, 2 Cetti's Warbler, 2 Reed Warbler, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Willow Warbler, 4 Chiffchaff and 4 Linnet.  The Purple Sandpipers are still at Battery Point, but wont hang around much longer.  A Hobby and a Garden Warbler were seen at Portbury Wharf.  Two Whinchats were at Royal Portbury Docks.

25th - Seawatching from Clevedon produced 6 Sandwich Terns heading south.  Also at Clevedon was a Tree Pipit, a Gropper and a Whinchat.  At Portbury Wharf there were a new pair of Shovelers, a Little Egret, a Peregrine, 5 Little Grebes, 5 Whimbrel, a Greenshank and 10 Cetti's Warbler.

24th - An influx at Clevedon with a Gropper, a Garden Warbler, 3 Whinchats, a Yellow Wagtail, an influx of Whitethroats and 2 Swifts flew over.  A Wood Warbler was at Portbury Wharf.

23rd - A probable Osprey was seen heading east over Weston Moor. Sightings in and around Clevedon included 2 Flyover Tree Pipits, a Yellow Wagtail, a male and female Pied Flycatcher and a few migrating Goldfinch, Linnets and Redpolls.  An Arctic Skua and an Arctic Tern were seen from Ladye Bay and this evening a Hobby was at Blakes Pools.

22nd - Today at Clevedon there were 60 Shelduck, 4 Teal, 1 Little Egret, 3 Buzzard, single Kestrel, 8 Oystercatcher, 1 Ringed Plover, 6 Lapwing, 105 Dunlin, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 36 Whimbrel, 2 Curlew, only 1 Redshank, 1 Greenshank, 1 Black-headed Gull, 12 Herring Gull, 6 LBB Gull, 40 Swallow, 2 House martin, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 8 Wheatear, 2 Reed Warbler, 1 Blackcap, 1 Whitethroat, 3 Chiffchaff and 2 Linnet.  A male Pied Flycatcher was near the Avonmouth Bridge and inside the docks there were 5 Wheatear, 6 Sedge Warbler, 1 Reed Warbler, 3 Lesser Whitethroat and 3 Chiffchaff. 

21st - An afternoon trip from Channel View to Blakes Pools produced a Whitethroat, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 10 Whimbrel, a Spotted Redshank, 2 Common Sandpipers, 3 Wheatears and a Little Egret. At Blakes Pools there were 2 Reed Buntings c10 Reed Warbler and another Whitethroat.

20th - Weston Moor held 10 Canada Geese, 2 Little Grebes, 6 Tufted Ducks plus numerous Mallards, Pheasants and Pied Wagtails.  Of more interest were Swallows, a Lesser Whitethroat, several Chiffchaff and Willow Warblers, 2 Reed Buntings and 2 Linnet.

19th - Another day, another Red Kite sighting, this one over Nore Road, Portishead this afternoon.  Coastal count from the mouth of the river Avon to Portishead dock this morning, 9 Mute Swan, 11 Canada Goose, 2 Little Grebe, 75 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 9 Teal, 16 Mallard, 1 Pochard, 19 Tufted Duck, 1 Little Egret, 20 Oystercatcher, 8 Ringed Plover, 26 Dunlin, 1 Curlew, 4 Whimbrel, 4 Redshank, 3 Common Sandpiper (new birds in), a Barn Owl, 20 Sand Martin, 60 Swallow, 1 Wheatear, 6 Cetti's Warbler, a Sedge Warbler, 5 Blackcap, 8 Chiffchaff and 10 Willow Warbler.  A Hobby was seen over North Weston.

18th - A Red Kite was seen over over the Perfect Bite Pools at Lunchtime where today there were also a couple of Grasshopper Warblers and a Sedge Warbler.  On the coast at Clevedon there were 60 Shelduck, 12 Teal, a male Pintail, 2 Little Egrets, 13 Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plover, a Grey Plover (heard only), 4 Lapwing, 16 Dunlin, 4 Bar-tailed Godwit, a Turnstone, 18 Whimbrel, 10+ Curlew, 65 Redshank, c10 Wheatears, a Blackcap, a Yellow Wagtail and 10 Skylarks.  Two Yellow Wagtails at Weston Moor.

17th - Four Blackcaps (1 female), a Sand Martin, 3 Swallows, 3 Willow Warblers, 6 Chiffchaffs, a Green Woodpecker and a Common Sandpiper were reported at Portbury Wharf.

16th - At Portbury Wharf there were 2 Whitethroats, 2 Redstarts, 2 Yellow Wagtails and a Little Egret.  At Portbury Docks there was another Redstart, a Lesser Whitethroat, 8 Blackcaprs and 3 Cetti's Warblers.

15th - The first Cuckoo of the year was heard in East Wood, Portishead today.  On the coast at Clevedon there were 9 Canada Goose, 1 Greylag Goose, 80 Shelduck, 8 Teal, 12 Mallard, 2 Shoveler, 1 Grey Heron, 3 Little Egret, 1 Kestrel, 13 Oystercatcher, 2 Ringed Plover, 4 Lapwing, 9 Dunlin, a Snipe, 2 Bar-tailed Godwit, 9 Whimbrel, 35 Curlew, 105 Redshank, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Turnstones, 15 Swallow, 3 Chiffchaff, a Yellow Wagtail, a Lesser Whitethroat and 2 Willow Warblers.  A female Mandarin turned up in Portbury Dock, who know's it may find the drake in the Gordano Valley! A few migrants flew over Wains Hill with 2 Tree Pipits. 

14th - Five Purple Sandpipers were at Battery Point, Portishead.  Seawatching from Ladye Bay produced 50 commic Terns (probably Arctic) and 2 Bar-tailed Godwits were at the Kenn.

12th - A Red Kite seen over Clevedon heading towards Portishead mid-afternoon.  On the coast at Clevedon there were 4 Mute Swans, 13 Canada Goose, 110 Shelduck, 35 Teal, 2 Little Egrets, a Kestrel, 14 Oystercatchers, 3+ Lapwing, 5+ Dunlin, 4 Whimbrel, 2 Curlew, 165 Redshank, a Spotted Redshank, a Common Sandpiper, 5 Turnstones, a Sand Martin, 2 Blackcaps, a Willow Warbler and 3 Chiffchaff.  At Portbury Wharf there were 20 Sand Martins and a Little Owl.

11th - At first light this morning at Weston Moor there were 2 bar-headed goose types, 7 Tufted Ducks, 4 Shelduck, 6 Canada Geese, a Little Grebe, 4 Great Spotted Woodpeckers and 2 Sparrowhawks.  The coast at Clevedon was devoid of small waders this morning on the low tide and generally quiet with c30 Curlew, 11 Oystercatchers, c55 Redshank, 13 Lapwing, c95 Shelducks, a drake Pintail, 2 Wheatears, a Green Woodpecker, 3 Sparrowhawks, a Whitethroat and a close up Peregrine trying to catch it's breakfast!  Some migration over Wains Hill with small groups of Goldfinch, Redpoll and Siskins.  A Grasshopper Warbler was at Portbury Wharf first thing and 8 Whimbrel were seen flying up channel from Battery Point.  A later visit to Weston Moor produced a Green Sandpiper and a Greylag Goose.  A drake Wood Duck was seen on the Clevedon coast.

9th - A Red Kite seen over Kenn at 2pm this afternoon.  A White Wagtail, a Wheatear, a Redstart and a Reed Warbler at Clevedon.  Four Greylags and a Barn Owl were at Portbury Wharf this morning.

7th - At last some noticeable signs of migration with 3 Redstarts at Clevedon along with a Common Sandpiper.  At Portbury Wharf there was a Whitethroat.

6th - A Wheatear, c40 Sand Martins and twenty plus Swallows at Portbury Wharf.

5th - Seawatching from Clevedon produced a Great Northern Diver this morning.  At Weston Drove there were 6 Canada Goose, 4 Shelduck, 15+ Mallard, 6 Tufted Duck, a Pochard, 2 Little Grebe, 2 Buzzards, 10+ Swallow and 3 Chiffchaff.

4th - Still quiet (for quiet read - dull!) at Clevedon and Portbury today.  At Clevedon there were 6 Mute Swans, 6 Canada Goose, 95 Shelduck, 20 Teal, a male Pintail, 4 Little Egrets, 10 Oystercatchers, 6 Ringed Plover, 2 Grey Plover, 5 Dunlin (Schnizii's some in breeding plumage), 35 Curlew, a Spotted Redshank, 190 Redshank, 17 Turnstones, 12+ Swallows, 3+ Chiffchaffs and a Reed Bunting.   Portbury Wharf had 2 Green Woodpeckers,  6 Little Grebes, 11 Canada Goose, 8 Wigeon, 40 Teal, 29 Tufted Duck, 55 Redshank, at least 6 Cetti's Warblers, 4 Blackcap, 6 Bullfinch, a Sparrowhawk and c12 Chiffchaff/Willow Warbler.

2nd - At the Blind Yeo in the rain there was a House Martin with a couple of Sand Martins and 30 swallows.
