27th - A Ring-necked Duck (drake) was found on the
CEGB pool this morning, this may well be the same individual that stayed on
the same pool for a couple of months two years ago. Two Water Pipits,
Goldeneye, two Little Grebes and four Tufted Duck were also here as well.
The Cattle Egret is still at Kingston Seymour and on the coast at Clevedon
there were five Ringed Plover, 48 Oystercatchers, 350 Dunlin and two
Short-eared Owls.
26th - Cattle Egret seen at Kingston Seymour.
Bat-tailed Godwit, 30 Common Gulls and two Pintail at the Yeo. A
Little Owl was near Plantation lakes. Six Goosander and three Tufted
Ducks were on the Blind Yeo.
25th - The Cattle Egret is still at Kingston
Seymour, it was seen in a field close to Channel View Farm today. On
the coast at Clevedon there was a Black-tailed Godwit, Bar-tailed Godwit,
c25 Grey Plover, c500 Dunlin, 10 Shoveler and a Peregrine.
24th - A good selection of birds at Clevedon today
with 1 Little Grebe, 4 Little Egrets, 15 Canada Goose 15, 60 Shelduck, 90+
Wigeon, 60+ Teal, 2 Pintail, 27 Oystercatchers, 7 Ringed Plover, 36 Grey
Plover, 55 Lapwing, 42 Knot (mouth of Kenn at High Tide), 720 Dunlin, 4 Jack
Snipe, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, 170 Curlew, Spotted Redshank, 155 Redshank, 2
Turnstone, Meadow Pipit and 2 Stonechats. Twelve Goosander were on the
Blind Yeo.
23rd - The Cattle Egret was again seen at Kingston
Seymour this morning. A probable Hen Harrier was at top of the Yeo
near Blakes Pools today and was being looked for this afternoon. The
Yeo area continues to hold good numbers of Short-eared Owls with seven senn
today. At Portbury Wharf a Water Pipit was seen, but little else was
there.
19th - Nine Goosander were seen on the Blind Yeo
this afternoon and the Cattle Egret continues it's long stay at Kingston
Seymour.
16th & 17th - The only news to report is the ever
present Cattle Egret, still at Kingston Seymour.
15th - Six Little Grebes, two Gadwall, three Tufted
Ducks and a redhead Goosander were on the Blind Yeo at Clevedon this
morning. The Cattle Egret and eleven Little Egrets were at Kingston
Seymour.
14th - The only news to report was of the long
staying Cattle Egret (41 days and counting) being present at Kingston
Seymour along with 21 Little Egrets in the same area.
12th - The Cattle Egret was present still, along
with 23 Little Egrets in the Kingston Seymour area today.
10th - The Cattle Egret was again seen today at
Kingston Seymour along with 24 Little Egrets.
8th - There were one or two Merlin at Clevedon
along with two Golden Plover, c750 Dunlin and nine Little Egrets. The
Cattle Egret was not seen today.
6th - The Cattle Egret was present again with 10
Little Egrets. On the coast at Clevedon there were 3 more Little
Egrets, 2 Goosander, Peregrine, Merlin, 19 Grey Plover, 180+ Dunlin, Spotted
Redshank, 90 Redshank, 120 Curlew and 15 Turnstone. A Green Sandpiper
and a Grey Wagtail were seen at Tutshill Sluice. Two Tree Sparrows
were in the farm near the Hand Stadium. At Portbury Wharf there was a
Goldeneye, 3 Tufted Ducks, 7 Pochard, adult Med Gull and c500 Lapwing.
Weston Moor held 15 pairs of Mallard and 6 of Teal and 55 Snipe.
5th - At Clapton Moor this morning there were 7
Shoveler and and pair of Peregrines. At Portbury Wharf there were 8
Tufted Duck, 2 Gadwall, a female Goldeneye and 2 Pochards. The Cattle
Egret is still at Kingston Seymour with several Little Egrets and 6
Gooosander and a Merlin were seen around the Blind Yeo.
3rd - The Cattle Egret is still present, now in
it's 30th day. On the coast, 6 Short-eared Owls were reported along
with a female Merlin, 10 Little Egrets, 1 Knot and 2 Shoveler.
2nd - Cattle Egret again reported.
1st - The Cattle Egret is still at Kingston Seymour, associating with with the Swans.
On the coast at Clevedon there was a female Merlin, Spotted Redshank,
Black-tailed Godwit and the usual numbers of other ducks and waders.
There was a report of a small flock of Waxwings in the Dial Hill area of
Clevedon.
