26th - A first winter Med Gull was at Clevedon (Wains Hill) today along with c100 Common Gulls.  At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve there was a Spotted Redshank (favours the boundary moat between the reserve and the housing), 28 Wigeon,  Shoveler, 5 Gadwall, 6 Tufted Duck, 2 Little Grebes, Grey Wagtail, Green Woodpecker, 2 Reed Buntings and c10 Skylark singing optimistically despite the cold wind.

25th - It was very quiet at the Clevedon-Yeo today with only a Water Pipit of note.  At Clapton Moor a Barn Owl was seen in the morning along with 15-20 Wigeon and 4 Shoveler.

24th - At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve today there were 42 Wigeon, 11 Shoveler, 5 Tufted Duck, 4 Little Grebes and 1 Green Woodpecker.  Weston Moor had 30 Teal, 3 Buzzards, 1 Raven, 1 Jack Snipe, 57 Snipe, 2 Stonechats, 90 Fieldfare and 22 Redwing.

22nd - A Barn Owl was seen at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve this morning and a Chiffchaff was on the sea wall here.

21st - A good record at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve today with a Spotted Redshank there along with a Jack Snipe, 32 Wigeon, 13 Shoveler, 4 Tufted Duck and a Grey Wagtail.  The Ring-necked Parakeet was seen near the Blind-Yeo at Clevedon.

19th - A dull, cold and damp day but a couple of birds of note at Clevedon with a Short-eared Owl and a Green Sandpiper being seen.  Also seen were 55 Shelduck, 160 Wigeon, 60 Teal, 4 Shoveler, Sparrow Hawk, Water Rail (Wain's Hill Marsh), 15 Oystercatchers, 80 Lapwing, 24 Grey Plover, 850 Dunlin, 10 Snipe, 110 Curlew, Spotted Redshank, 95 Redshank, 22 Turnstone, 2 Great Black-backed Gulls, 2 Rock Pipits and a male Stonechat.

18th - A Water Pipit was at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve.

17th - Four Little Egrets and c800 Dunlin were at Clevedon.

16th - A Great Skua was seen from Ladye Bay in the morning along with 20 Kittiwakes in the afternoon.  At Portbury Wharf Nature reserve two Twite were seen feeding along the main track near the first set of pylons, Twite are uncommon in the area now so these were a good find.  Also there were 6 Gadwall and 10 Shoveler. At the Clevedon-Yeo there were 30+Shelduck, 180 Wigeon, 40+ Teal, 2 Little Egrets, 28 Oystercatcher, 10 Ringed Plover, 160 Lapwing, Knot, 800+ Dunlin, 140 Curlew, 60+ Redshank, 32 Turnstone and a Water Pipit.

15th - Three hours of seawatching from Ladye Bay only produced 5-7 Gannet and a Fulmar.  There appears to have been an influx of Little Egrets with 22 seen near Channel View Farm, Clevedon, Today.

14th - At the Clevedon-Yeo today there were c700 Lapwing, 5 Shoveler and c300 Dunlin.

13th - A Chiffchaff was seen in a farmyard near the Hand Stadium at Clevedon, this is the same farm that the Tree Sparrows use, however they have not been seen for many months, if you are in the area be sure to have a look!

12th - At the Clevedon-Yeo today there were 60 Shelduck, 140 Wigeon, 70+ Teal, 2 Little Grebes, 3 Little Egret, 8 Oystercatchers, 1 Ringed Plover, 280 Lapwing, 250 + Dunlin, 1 Snipe, 90 Curlew, 1 Spotted Redshank, 80 Redshank, 15+ Turnstone and a Merlin.  There were 6 Pochard on Portishead Boating Lake.

11th - The only birds of significance today were a Brambling (thanks to Ade Osmant ( www.suenade.co.uk ) for the Pic) at Clapton Moor and a Redpoll at the Perfect Bite Pools.

5th - Much the same at Clevedon today with the Ring-necked Parakeet and 4 Snipe in the Wains Hill area.  At the Clevedon-Yeo there were c85 Curlew, c500 Dunlin, 22 Grey Plover, Golden Plover, 5 Knot, 7 Turnstone, Spotted Redshank, Little Egret, 11 Shoveler, Peregrine, Mistle Thrush, 2 Water Pipits and several Rock Pipits.

4th - At the Clevedon-Yeo today there were 3 Knot, 48 Grey Plover, 21 Turnstones, Jack Snipe and 600+ Dunlin.  Two Water Pipits and 6-10 Rock Pipits showed well.  Eleven Shoveler were also seen.  This evening an adult Med Gull, leucestic Black-headed Gull and a Goosander were seen.  The Ring-necked Parakeet is still in the allotments around Wains Hill.

2nd - At the Clevedon-Yeo today there were 2 Little Egrets, 105 Shelduck, 170 Wigeon, 60 Teal, 60+ Mallard, 1 Pintail, 24 Oystercatchers, 10 Ringed Plover,  38 Grey Plover, 160+ Lapwing, 650+ Dunlin, 11 Snipe, 2 Jack Snipe 2 (one below Wain's Hill and one at mouth of Kenn), 70 Curlew, 100+ Redshank, 25+ Turnstone and 4 Stonechats.

1st - The Ring-necked Parakeet was again seen near the allotments at Wains Hill, Clevedon.
