4th - An early morning visit to a frozen Portbury Wharf showed that the 5 Grey Partridge are still there, a Little Owl was in it's usual place. The north pools was completely frozen apart from two small open areas in which there were 8 Shoveler, c200 Wigeon, 20 Gadwall, 10 Teal and 2 Little Grebes, the Great-crested Grebe was not seen. Also around the reserve a Cetti's Warbler and a Green Woodpecker.


2nd - Five Grey Partridge turned up at Portbury Wharf today, thanks to Chris Jones for the pic. They were in the fields between the Wharf Lane parking area and the Sheepway road. A male Black Redstart was at Portishead Pier.

1st - At Clevedon today there were 130 Shelduck, 300 Wigeon, 250 Teal, 110 Mallard, a Goosander (Blind Yeo), 4 Little Egret, single Peregrine, 6 Oystercatcher, 4 Ringed Plover, 56 Grey Plover, 1400 Dunlin, a Jack Snipe, a Black-tailed Godwit, 225 Curlew, 320 Redshank, 46 Turnstone, 250 BH Gull, 4 Raven, 24 Skylark and 4 Rock Pipit. A male Black Redstart was seen at Portishead Pier, 4 Purple Sandpipers were at Battery Point and 3 Pochard were on the Boating Lake here. Portbury Wharf had 62 Wigeon and 17 Shoveler, a Sparrowhawk and 2 Cetti's Warblers but no sign of yesterdays Goosander.
