29th - More seawatching today from Ladye bay, however the picking were far slimmer - 37 Gannets (25 adults, 6 2/3rs year birds and 6 first year) all bar one going out of the estuary and a single Fulmar.

28th - Good seawatching conditions today produced an excellent sighting of a Roseate Tern from Ladye Bay along with c500 Manx Shearwater, 2 Storm Petrels and 10 Gannets.  Battery Point, Portishead had a Storm Petrel, 17 Manx Shearwaters and 3 Gannets.  A Redstart was at Clapton Moor.

23rd - At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve today there was the long staying female Goldeneye, a pair of Tufted Ducks have bred, 40 Redshanks and 2 Ravens.

22nd - A stormy night, followed by a very blustery day today, however it did produce some good seabirds with a Storm Petrel, 20 Manx Shearwaters, 2 Gannets, 12 Fulmars, an Arctic Skua and a Guillemot. 

21st - The first juvenile Black-headed Gull of the year was seen at Portbury Wharf along with a few adults, also here were a few Sand Martins.

19th - A great sighting from Portishead today with a Balearic Shearwater - description from the observer - 'Dark brown upperparts and dirty white underparts, it never looked black and white at any stage or angle and never had the smart contrast of Manx.  Also, the flight action was noticeably different with more flapping and wing beats than Manx and fewer long periods of glides and shearing'.  Also a Gannet here.  From Ladye Bay Clevedon there was 1 (possibly 2) Pomarine Skuas and a Gannet.  On the coast at Clevedon their were 11 Oystercatchers, 5 Ringed Plover, 5 Lapwing, 18 Dunlin (adults, so probably early failed breeders), 32 Curlew and 10 Redshank.
 

18th - Eleven Manx Shearwaters were seen from Ladye Bay.

16th - An adult and juvenille Whinchat were seen at Dowlais Farm, Clevedon this evening.

15th - Still very quiet.  At Clevedon there were c20 Shelduck (plus old brood of 2 and a new one of 8), 4 Little Egrets, 4+ Oystercatchers, 6+ Lapwings, 9 Curlew, 8 Redshank and a Raven.

14th - A Hobby and a Black-tailed Godwit were seen at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve.  Also here were 5+ Whitethroats, a Sedge Warbler, a Cettis Warbler.

8th - No change at Clevedon, 25 Shelduck still with 10 young, 3 Little Egret, 5 Oystercatchers, a Ringed Plover, 4 Lapwing, 4 Curlew and 2 Redshank.

6th  - Quiet at the Clevedon-Yeo with 30 Shelduck (+10 young), 3 Little Egrets, a male Peregrine, 7 Oystercatchers, a Grey Plover, 6 Lapwing, a Curlew and 2+ Redshank.  At Portbury Whard 2 Great Crested Grebes appeared alongside the Goldenye

3rd - A good showing of seabirds from Portishead today with 32 Gannets (mostly adults), 24 Manx Shearwater and 2 Fulmars.

1st - Today at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve there was a Barn Owl, 6 Tufted Ducks, the female Goldeneye, a Gadwall, 7 Shelducks, an Oystercatcher, a Cettis Warbler, 2 Reed Buntings, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Green Woodpecker.  A pair of Canada Geese has raised a brood a 7 young here.

2003 - Curlew Sandpiper at Clevedon was unusual.

2004 - 135 Manx Shearwater from Clevedon, a Ruff at Cl-Y and a Little Egret at Portbury Wharf

2005 - Red Kite sightings x 3, Red Arrows over Portishead Lake Grounds!

2006 - Red Kite at Portbury and nine Sanderling at Clevedon

2007 - Two Crossbills at Walton Common, Red Kite in the Gordano and a Great White Egret at Cl-Y.

2008  - A Red Kite sighting would seem certain, other than that June is hard work.
