30th - The first 2 Willow Warblers of the year were at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve today, along with a few Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps, the female Goldeneye is still there.  Two Ravens were seen over Clevedon town.
 
29th - A Goshawk was seen from the Perfect Bite Pools and c11 Buzzards were also here.  The two Red leg's were still in the Gordano Valley.  It was quiet at Clapton Moor with c6 Reed Buntings of note, numerous Buzzards seen from here along with a Sparrowhawk and a Raven.  Three Purple Sandpipers remains at Battery Point.  Two Peregrines and 4 Ravens were seen at Clevedon.

28th - Two Red-legged Partridge were at the north end of the Gordano Valley today, a nice patch tick for the year.  Three Lesser Redpolls were at the Perfect Bite pools, Clevedon.
 
27th  - Five Gannets were seen off Portbury Wharf/Royal Portbury Dock today, adults/sub-adults flying down river.
 
22nd - The two pairs of Garganey were still at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve today, also here was the long staying female Goldeneye, a few Tufted Ducks, 2 Gadwall, 2 Little Grebes, a Green Woodpecker and 2 Buzzards.  A low tide visit to the Clevedon-Yeo produced some low numbers with 40+ Shelduck, 24 Wigeon, 12 Teal, 8 Oystercatchers, 8 Lapwing, 2 Knot, a single Dunlin, a Snipe, 6 Curlew(!), a Spotted Redshank (heard), 130 Redshank, 32 Turnstones, a Wheatear, 4 Chiffchaffs and 2 Ravens.
 
21st - Ten Sand Martins and several Lapwings at Dowlais farm this afternoon.  A Black Swan was with 24 Mute Swans in Portishead Marina, one of the Mute's has a green ring with BP9 on it, anyone know anything about it?
 
19th - The 4 Garganey were still present at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve today along with c50 Swallows and c80 Sand Martins.
 
18th - The two pairs of Garganey were still present at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve first thing this morning, they were on the pools on the left as you head down the track, please stick to the paths in order to avoid disturbance.  Also here was a Little Owl, a couple of Cetti's Warblers, a Green Woodpecker, several Chiffchaffs and a Wheatear.  Three Wheatears and c30 Sand Martins seen at Clevedon
 
17th - More proof of Spring with 4 Garganey located this PM at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve, lets hope they are still there tomorrow morning.  Also seen passing through today were Swallows, Sand Martins, Wheatears and Chiffchaffs.
 
15th - Three Purple Sandpipers were at Battery Point today.  A female Crossbill was on the patch but details must remain confidential for obvious reasons. On the coast at Clevedon a single Avocet put in a much appreciated appearance, also here was a Short-eared Owl, other counts included 75 Shelduck, 90 Wigeon, 30 Teal, 7 Little Egrets, 18 Oystercatchers, a Ringed Plover, c6 Lapwing, a Knot, c20 Dunlin, 8 Snipe, 85 Curlew, a Spotted Redshank, 175 Redshank, 38 Turnstones, 25+ Meadow Pipits, 2 Stonechats, 4 Wheatears (all males) and a Reed Bunting.  At Clapton Moor there were 2 Bullfinch, 3/4 Reed Buntings, a Green Woodpecker and a mixed flock of tits on the feeders.  A Stoat was seen on Walton Common.  Chiffchaff are popping up all over the place.

14th - Hooray!  Spring is here, 4 Wheatears were on the sea wall at Clevedon today, also here was a Green Sandpiper.
 
13th - Two Greylag geese were seen at Clevedon today. 
 
12th - No sign yet of any Spring migrants.  Over a very high tide at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve there were 30+ Shelduck, a few Wigeon and Teal, 19 Curlew, 75 Redshank, 3 Jack Snipe, 31 Snipe and a few Dunlin.  On the pools there was the resident female Goldeneye plus a few Tufted Ducks, Gadwall, Shoveler and Pochard. A Water Rail in the seawall ditch.  At the Clevedon-Yeo there were 5 Canada Goose, 80 Shelduck, 70 Wigeon, 40 Teal, 23 Oystercatchers, 16 Grey Plover, 3 Lapwing, 3 Knot, 140 Dunlin (one or two quite small calidrid's with short bills - mostly likely just small Dunlin), 85 Curlew, 180+ Redshank and 40+ Turnstones.  A Sand Martin was seen at Clevedon (reported a few days later)
 
9th - A pair of Ravens are being seen regularly near Clevedon and they are showing signs of courtship display.
 
8th - Four Purple Sandpipers were at Battery Point, Portishead along with 5 Shelduck and a Rock Pipit, 4 Pochard were on the Boating Lake.  At Clevedon there were  c30 Shelduck, 60 Wigeon, 45 Teal, 12 Little Egrets, a Water Rail, 7 Oystercatchers, 4 Lapwing, 30 Dunlin, 6 Snipe, a Jack Snipe, 40+ Curlew, a Spotted Redshank, 190 Redshank, 10+ Fieldfares and 15+ Redwing.  Seawatching from Ladye Bay produced 20 Kittiwakes in the morning and 20 in the afternoon along with a single Common Scoter.

 
6th - Today at Clevedon there were 100 Curlew, 50 Redshank, 10 Turnstones, 40 Lapwing, 45 Wigeon, 20 Teal, , 40 Fieldfares along with one or two Redwing and 2 GBB Gulls.

4th- A high tide visit at the Clevedon-Yeo today produced around 500 Dunlin, 5 Grey Plover, 7 Turnstones and 96 Curlew and a Redshank.

 
1st - A high tide visit to Clevedon this morning produced the usual crew, although wader number appear to be decreasing.  There were 75 Shelduck, 40 Teal, 45 Wigeon, 7 Little Egrets, 2 Grey Plovers, 24 Lapwing, 180 Redshank, 15 Oystercatchers, 43 Turnstones, 850 Dunlin (including the individual pictured below who c20 seconds after this photo was taken was killed when 3 Peregrines struck simultaneously!!), 90 Curlew, 7 Snipe, a Green Sandpiper, a Raven, 2 Stonechats, c110 Redwing, c50 Fieldfare and 6 Skylarks.
