29th - At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve today there were 17 Whimbrel, a Barn Owl,  Goldeneye (female), 7  Great BB Gull and 12 Curlew.  Clevedon had a Golden Plover, 2 Whimbrel, a Turnstone, 7 Dunlin and 2 Ringed Plover.  A local birder has just launched his garden wildlife website, visit it at http://www.gardenwildlife.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/default.htm

28th - At last a dry day!  Fairly quiet at Clevedon with 3 Little Egrets, 12 Oystercatchers, 18 Ringed Plover, 8 Lapwing, 28 Dunlin, 4 Curlew, 5 Redshank, 10 Turnstones, 5 Wheatear, 2 Reed Buntings, Cetti's Warbler and a Little Owl at the Perfect Bite Pools.  A Common Scoter was seen during a 90 minute seawatch.

25th - At Clevedon today there were 5 Little Egrets, 9 Oystercatchers, 38 Ringed Plover, 8 Lapwing, 15 Dunlin, 6 Whimbrel, 5 Curlew, 4 Redshank, 10 Turnstones and 5 Wheatear.

23rd - Seawatching from Ladye Bay produced a very welcome Storm Petrel, 2 Arctic Skuas, a 2nd summer Med Gull, 2 Guillemots, 2/3 Fulmars, 20 Kittiwakes and a few Manx Shearwaters.

21st - At Clevedon today there were 6+Oystercatchers, 16 Ringed Plover, 8 Lapwing, 12 Dunlin, 4 Whimbrel, 2 Curlew, 4 Redshank, 6 Turnstone, 5 Wheatear, a Cetti's Warbler and 8+ Reed Warblers.  An hours seawatching from Ladye Bay only produced 3 Gannets and a Great-black backed gull.

20th - Seven hours of seawatching today had it's just reward with a Great Northern Diver being seen at 16:00, also seen were 13 Gannet, 7 Fulmar, 1 Auk sp, 3 Manx Shearwaters, 4 Kittiwakes, 2 Great Skua and a Skua sp with pale wing coverts and a white secondary bar that was also seen further down the coast.

19th - More seawatching from Ladye Bay today produced 200+ Manx Shearwaters, 50+ Gannets, 50+ Fulmar, 3 Arctic Skuas, c20 Kittiwakes, 3 Common Terns and 3 Common Scoter.

18th - Seawatching was productive today with 50 Gannets, 40 Kittiwakes, 40-50 Manx Shearwaters, a Fulmar and an Arctic Skua seen from Ladye Bay this morning, this afternoon only 120 Kittiwakes were seen.

17th - At Clevedon today there were c65 Dunlin/Ringed Plover, c10 Turnstones, 10 Whimbrel and 2 Little Egrets.

16th - Why do the good birds appear on work days?  A great find today was an adult Spoonbill that stayed for a couple of hours at the Clevedon-Yeo this morning.

14th - An early start at Clevedon today produced a surprise with a Curlew Sandpiper being found in amongst c100 Dunlin.  Also seen were 10 Oystercatchers, 20 Knot, 16 Ringed Plover, 7 Turnstone, Greenshank, 10 Whimbrel, Bar-Wit, Grey Plover, 2 Wheatears, 7 Little Egrets, Peregrine, Whinchat and a Cetti's Warbler.

              

12th - At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve today a Barn Owl, a Little Egret, 4 Tufted Ducks, 3 Gadwall, Goldeneye, 1 Sanderling, 25 Ringed Plover, 5 Whimbrel, 3 Curlew, 260 Dunlin and 3 Oystercatchers were seen.  At Clevedon there was a male Pintail, 1 Grey Plover, c30 Dunlin, 2 Bar-Wits, a Cuckoo, c20 Turnstones and a Little Egret.  16 Common Scoter were seen in the Channel from Ladye Bay this evening.

11th - At the Clevedon-Yeo there were 20 Oystercatchers, 4 Ringed Plover, 8 Lapwing, 35 Dunlin, 4 bar-Wits, 22 Whimbrel, 5 Curlew, 4 Redshank, a Common Sandpiper and 15 Turnstones.

10th - A Spotted Flycatcher and a Whinchat were seen on the coast at Clevedon.

9th - At Clevedon this afternoon 5 Knot, c50 Ringed Plover/Dunlin and 2 Wheatears were seen.  At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve there were 200 Dunlin, a Sanderling, 9 Ringed Plover and the long staying Goldeneye.

7th - Only 4-5 Lesser Redpoll were seen this morning at Wains Hill.  At the Clevedon-Yeo there was a Pintail (off Blackstone Rocks), Tufted Duck (pair at Yeo Bank Farm), 5 Little Egrets, 12 Oystercatchers, 3 Ringed Plover, 8 Lapwing, 3 Dunlin, 28 Whimbrel, 4 Redshank, Yellow Wagtail, 4 Wheatear, Cetti's Warbler, 5 Reed Warblers and 2/3 Ravens. 

6th - A Great White Egret was seen whilst seawatching from Ladye Bay today after if left the Gwent coast, also seen were 3 Common Terns and an Arctic Skua.  A flock of 13 Redpolls at Wains Hill caused interest as two individuals were possibly a mealy race birds.  At Portbury Wharf there were 8 Whimbrel, 2 Ringed Plover, 15+ Dunlin, Lesser Whitethroat and a Cuckoo.

5th - A Hobby was seen at Caswell more and 7 Lesser Whitethoats were in the Portbury area.  At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve, two Little Owls and the long staying female Goldeneye were seen.

4th - A very warm day today, feels like summer!  At Clevedon there were 25+ Shelduck, a male Pintail (in the mouth of the Yeo), 6 Little Egrets, 17 Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plovers, 6 Lapwing, 90 Dunlin, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, 28 Whimbrel, 2 Curlew, 3 Redshank, Yellow Wagtail, 9 Wheatear, at least 15 Reed Warblers at Blake's Pools, Garden Warbler on Wain's Hill, 8 Redpoll and a Spotted Flycatcher.  A Seal was seen from Ladye Bay, but alas no birds!  At Portbury Wharf there was a Ring-Necked Duck, 5 Tufted Ducks, a Common Sandpiper, 6 Sedge Warblers, 8 Whitethoats and 13 Whimbrel.

1st - A great start to the month with a probable Whiskered Tern seen this morning whilst seawatching from Ladye Bay, also seen were 2 Pomarine Skuas, 5 Arctic Skuas, 4 Gannets, 2 Kittiwakes, 4 Fulmars, Sandwich Terns and c10 commic Terns.  This evening a Razorbill was also seen.
