28th - At Clevedon today there were c20 Shelduck, a Little Egret, a Peregrine (a female eating a Magpie), 8 Oystercatchers, 4 Ringed Plover, 6 Lapwing, 28 Dunlin, 3 Whimbrel, a Redshank, a Green Woodpecker and a Cetti's Warbler.  Two Great Skuas were seen on a seawatch in the morning from Ladye Bay.

24th - Today at Clevedon there were c 30 Shelduck, 5 Little Egrets, 8 Oystercatchers, 10 Ringed Plover, 8+ Lapwing, a Sanderling, 180 Dunlin, 2 Curlew, 2 Whimbrel, Redshank (heard only), Common Sandpiper (heard only at Blake's Pools), a Wheatear, 8 Reed Warblers, 2 Garden Warblers and a Lesser Whitethroat.  A red Kite was seen over Gordano Services.

23rd - Quiet at Clevedon with 95 Dunlin, 12 Ringed Plover, 5 Oystercatcher, a Little Egret and 20 Shelduck of note.

18th - At the Clevedon-Yeo today there were 7 Oystercatchers, 28 Ringed Plover, 10 Lapwing, 55 Dunlin, 7 Whimbrel, 2 Curlew, 2 Redshank, 5 Kittiwakes (4 adults and a 1st summer) and 2 Wheatears.

16th - Today at Clevedon there were 35+ Shelduck, 4 Manx Shearwaters, a Little Egret, a Sparrowhawk, 24 Oystercatcher, 28 Ringed Plover, 2+ Lapwing, 42 Dunlin, 7 Whimbrel, a GBB Gull and 2 Wheatears.

15th - Latvia calling, Latvia calling - their will be no updates for 5-6 days as the regular patch watchers are all off to Latvia.  suffice to say, Latvia was excellent ( 7 peckers, owls, warblers, eagles and the first ever Cattle 'they don't get up this far' Egret for Latvia plus loads more)  a full trip report and photo's will follow in a couple of weeks.  Just for fun, guess the chick!  (e-mail link above)

14th - A morning seawatch from Ladye Bay produced 2 probable Sandwich Terns, 2 Arctic Skuas, 4 Common Scoter and 2 Little Egrets.

13th - A Red Kite was seen over the split level section of the M5 between Portishead and Clevedon today.  On the coast at Clevedon there were 40+ Shelduck, a Little Egret, 7 Oystercatchers, 36 Ringed Plover, c4 Lapwing, 3 Sanderling (in w. plumuage), 30 Dunlin, 3 Bar-tailed Godwits, 12 Whimbrel, 6 Redshank, a Turnstone, a Common Gull, 24+ Swifts and 6 Wheatears.

12th - Seven Arctic Terns were seen on a seawatch this morning.

11th - More of the same at Clevedon with c25 Shelduck, Peregrine (male), 2 Little Egrets, 13 Oystercatchers, 10 Ringed Plover, 6 Lapwing, 8 Dunlin, 18 Whimbrel, a Curlew, a Redshank, a Common Sandpiper, a Common Gull, 2 GBB Gulls, 4 Swifts, 2 Wheatears and a Cetti's Warbler.  Seawatching only produced 20 Dunlin.

10th - Seawatching was rewarded with a close in view of a Pomarine Skua.  On the coast at Clevedon there were 38 Shelduck, a Teal (an injured bird at Dowlais), 8 Lapwing, c25 Whimbrel, 33 Dunlin, 2 Redshank, 7 Ringed Plover, 4 Oystercatchers, 3 Little Egrets, a Rock Pipit, a Yellow Wagtail, a Cetti's Warbler, 10 Wheatears and a Raven.  Three Greater-spotted Woodpeckers and a Marsh Tit were on Walton Common.

8th - A morning seawatch produced 5 Fulmar, 4 Manx Shearwater and 6 Gannets at Ladye Bay. A two hour afternoon seawatch produced a single Manx Shearwater, several unidentified Skuas and a possible Petrel sp.

7th - A little more variety at Clevedon today with 45 Shelduck, a Little Egret, 6 Oystercatchers, 13 Ringed Plover, 4+ Lapwing, a Sanderling, 18 Dunlin, 30 Whimbrel, 2 Curlew, 4 Redshank, 8 Common Sandpipers, a Turnstone, a Common Gull (a 1st summer, 16 Swallows, 8 Wheatears (all males) and a Lesser Whitethroat.  A dark phase Arctic Skua was seen from Battery Point this morning.

5th - A two hour seawatch produced just 2 Fulmars, where are the Terns???

3rd - A day patch thrash produced 82 species the highlights of which were a Tree Creeper and decent flock of Redpolls in Walton Common, Hobby at Wains Hill, a Common Sandpiper, a Grasshopper Warbler, a Little Owl at Clevedon, and a Garden Warbler and Grey Partridge at Clapton.
