29th - Highlights from Portbury Wharf were 2 Lesser Whitethroats and a Cetti's Warbler. An evening seawatch from Ladye Bay produced 63 Manx Shearwaters and 4 Fulmars.
27th - At the Portbury Docks there were 4 Oystercatcher, 4 Ringed Plover, 2 Dunlin and 6 Curlew on this mornings tide.
26th - At Clevedon today there were up to 8 Sanderling, 80 Ringed Plover and 30 Dunlin.
23rd - A Barn Owl and 4 Cettis Warblers were at Portbury Wharf.
20th - Today at Clevedon there was a Mute Swan, a Canada Goose (+4 chicks), 40 Shelduck, 30+ Mallard, a Grey Heron, a Little Egret, 12 Oystercatcher, 22 Ringed Plover, 2 Lapwing, a Sanderling, 65 Dunlin, 8 Whimbrel, 3 Curlew, a Common Sandpiper, 8 Herring Gull, 12 Lesser Black-backed Gull, a Great Black-backed Gull, a few Swifts, 10+ Swallow, 8+ House Martin and a Raven. Two Barnacle Geese and a Greylag were at Portbury Wharf
17th - A Barnacle Goose was a new arrival at Portbury Wharf today, also here were 4 Cetti's Warblers and 2 Lesser Whitethroats. Inside the Royal Portbury Docks there were 43 Shelduck, 8 Mallard, 4 Oystercatcher, 3 Ringed Plover, 33 Dunlin, 3 Whimbrel, 1 Curlew, 4 Bar-tailed Godwit and 3 Wheatear.
13th - The first Spotted Flycatcher of the year for the patch was at Portbury Wharf today along with a Lesser Whitethroat, a Cetti's Warbler, a Sedge Warbler and a male Bullfinch.
10th - Little of significance to report from Clevedon early this morning with 30+ Shelduck, 2 Teal, 2 Little Egrets, 2 Peregrines, 8 Oystercatchers, 4 Ringed Plover, 2 Grey Plover, 42 Dunlin, 34 Whimbrel, a Curlew, a Redshank, 3 Common Sandpipers, a GBB Gull, 35+ Swallow and a few Reed Warblers.
9th - Not a great day with a cold wind and overcast conditions. Highlights from Portbury Wharf were a Whinchat, a Wheatear and a pair of Gadwall. Weston Moor saw a trickle of hirundines passing through early in the morning. At Clevedon there were again more hirundines heading NE into the wind along with 3 Wheatears, c10 Whimbrel and a few Shelduck, a probable Hobby flew over Wains Hill. A Green Woodpecker was near the Police HQ at Portishead, on the nearby Downs again there was a small passage of Swifts and Swallows. A Marsh Harrier was seen in the Gordano Valley near Clapton.


8th - A Red Kite was seen at the Clevedon Yeo along with some summer plumaged Golden Plover and a Hobby. A pair of Siskins spent most of the day on my garden feeders, my first garden Siskins for a couple of years. Also thanks to Luc Clarkson for the Oystercatcher picture.


7th - A Red Throated Diver was a very nice find during a seawatch from Clevedon today. The drake Garganey is still at Portbury Wharf.
6th - Highlights from Wains Hill, Clevedon included 2 Garden Warblers, 6 Blackcaps, a fly over Tree Pipit, a Whimbrel and 4 Chiffchaffs.
4th - A drake Garganey was a nice find at Portbury Wharf this morning where a Barn Owl was also seen. On the coast at Clevedon there were 3 Mute Swans, a Canada Goose, 30+ Shelduck, 2 Teal, a Grey Heron, 13 Oystercatchers, 4 Ringed Plover, 2 Lapwing, 8 Dunlin, 22 Whimbrel, 2 Curlew, a Redshank, a Common Sandpiper, 4 Swift, 40+ Swallow, 4 House Martins, a Yellow Wagtail, 2 Whinchats, 1+ Whitethroat and 4+ Linnet.
3rd - Four Purple Sandpipers are still lingering on at Battery Point and are now beginning to come into breeding plumage. A pair of Canada Goose fledged 5 chicks this morning at Portbury Wharf.

2nd - A cold, wet and windy start to the day soon put paid to any attempt at a day patch list. A group of c15 Swifts were seen at Walton Common along with a Marsh Tit and the usual woodland suspects. Four Rock Pipits were at Battery Point.

1st - A Grasshopper Warbler and 2 Purple Sandpipers were at Battery Point.
