30th - The 2 Common Scoter remain off Battery Point, but the Purple Sand's were not seen. At the Clevedon Yeo a Short-eared Owl was again seen along with 3 Stonechats, 17 Grey Plover and 3 Little Egrets (a further 14 were inland near Channel View Farm). 
 
29th - The Purple Sandpipers at Battery Point increased in number to 3 which is good news.  A Short-eared Owl was seen at dusk at the Clevedon-Yeo.
 
28th - At Weston Moor there were 2 Little Grebes, 2 Tufted Ducks, 53 Snipe, 4 Ravens,  a GS Woodpecker, a Chiffchaff, 3 Stonechats and a Water Rail.  Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve held the usual Ducks, a Cettis Warbler, a Barn Owl, c30 Redwing and 3 Bullfinch.
 
27th - A Dark-bellied Brent Goose, 2 Tufted Ducks, c250 Dunlin and 'the usual others' were at the Clevedon-Yeo today.  A 2nd Winter Med Gull was in Portishead Marina. (thanks to Chris Gladman for the pic)
 
 
26th - At the Clevedon Yeo there were 4 Little Egrets, 96 Wigeon, 4 Teal, 10 Ringed Plover, 24 Grey Plover, 60 Lapwing, 3 Knot, 350 Dunlin, 12 Snipe, 2 Bar-tailed Godwits, c80 Curlew, at least 190 Redshank, 42 Turnstone, a Short-eared Owl and 2 Stonechats.  At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve there were 11 Little Grebes, 7 Pochard, 18 Tufted Ducks, 15 Shelduck, c50 Wigeon, 5 Shoveler, c500 Dunlin and c100 Lapwing.  One Purple Sandpiper was at Battery Point, Portishead.
 


 
24th - Today at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve there were 11 Shoveler, 9 Tufted Ducks, 37 Coot, 23 Lapwing, 9 Curlew and 2 stonechats.
 
23rd - A flock of 48 Black-tailed Godwits were seen at the Clevedon-Yeo, also here were 130+ Wigeon, 28 Oystercatchers,  14 Ringed Plover, 22 Grey Plover, a Knot, 240 Dunlin, 5 Common Snipe (using the new scrapes at Dowlais Farm), a Bar-tailed Godwit, 130 Curlew(40 using the new scrapes at Dowlais Farm), 140+ C Redshank, 32 Turnstones and 2 GBB Gulls
 
22nd - The Two Common Scoters are still off Battery Point.
 
20th - The two Common Scoter were seen again off Battery Point, Portishead.
 
19th - A female/1st winter Ruddy Duck was a welcome find at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve this morning.  Also there were c80 Wigeon, c25 Gadwall, 4 Shoveler, c15 Pochard, 10 Tufted Ducks and two Water Pipits.  The two Common Scoter remained off Battery Point, Portishead and in the bay here there were c15 Ringed Plover, 4 Curlew and a Rock Pipit.  The second Winter Med Gull remained at Portishead Marine (thanks to Brian Atkinson for the pic).  Two Brambling flew over Wains Hill.  At the Clevedon-Yeo there were 70 Common Shelduck, 80 Wigeon, 4 Little Egrets, 5+ Grey Plover, 60 Lapwing, 4 Knot, 60+ Dunlin, 80+ Curlew, a Spotted Redshank, 110+ Redshank, a Green Sandpiper, 10 Turnstones, 2 Ravens and 20 Fieldfares.  Finally, at Weston Moor there were 4 Tufted Ducks, 2 Little Grebes and 49 Snipe.
 
 
     
 
18th - A Green Sandpiper was at the Clevedon-Yeo and a Redpoll was at the Perfect Bite Pools
 
16th - Two Purple Sandpipers were at Battery Point, as always with this location a high tide visit is essential.  Also here was a second winter Med Gull.
 
15th - A welcome return of a Purple Sandpiper at Battery Point, Portishead today and two Common Scoter were in the bay here.  In the Blackstone Rocks area of Clevedon Yeo there were 29 Redshank, 4 Dunlin, 65+ Lapwing, a Turnstone, 3 Stonechats, 2 Dark-bellied Brents, 8 Wigeon and c15 Oystercatchers.
 
14th - At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve there were 52 Wigeon, 8 Pochard, 11 Tufted Ducks, a Little Egret, 4 Snipe, 20 Lapwing, 15 Redshank, 189 Curlew, 4 Reed Buntings and a Raven. Two Goosander were seen at Blackstone Rocks, Clevedon.
 
12th - At the Clevedon-Yeo this morning there were 130 Shelduck, 110 Wigeon, 20+ Teal, 7 Little Egrets, 16 Grey Plover, 120 Lapwing, 20 Dunlin, 5 Common Snipe, a Spotted Redshank (presumably the annually returning bird at the Yeo), 120+  Redshank, a Green Sandpiper, 30 Turnstones and 12 Skylark.
 
 
10th - At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve there were 11 Little Grebes, 32 Shelduck, 62 Wigeon, 95 Teal, 8 Shoveler, 17 Pochard, 13 Tufted Ducks, a Barn Owl, 65 Dunlin, 8 Snipe, 110 Redshank, 39 Curlew, a Stonechat and a Reed Bunting.  Weston Moor was quiet with only a few small Fieldfare flocks of note.  
 
9th - The two Pale-bellied Brents made a welcome return to Blackstone Rocks at Clevedon today, also here were 11 Canada Goose, 60+ Shelduck, 90 Wigeon, 30+
Teal , 16 Oystercatchers, 11 Ringed Plover, 17 Grey Plover, 90+ Lapwing, 100 Dunlin, a Jack Snipe, 90 Curlew, 160 Redshank, 11 Turnstones, 2 Stonechats, a Fieldfare, a Cetti's Warbler and a Chiffchaff.
 
7th - At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve there were 12 Pochard, 10 Gadwall, 15 Tufted Ducks, 8 Little Grebes, 2 Sparrowhawks, 8 Golden Plover, 140 Dunlin, 23 Rined Plover, 2 Stonechats and a Barn Owl.
 
6th - Two female Common Scoters were seen close in-shore near Battery Point today.
 
5th - Quiet at Clevedon with 90 Wigeon, 7/8 Little Egret, 9 Ringed Plover, a Grey Plover, 35+ Lapwing, 50+ Dunlin, a Greenshank, 15+ Turnstone , 2 Stonechats, a Kingfisher and a Raven of note.
 
3rd - At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve there there 14 Pochard, 14 Tufted Ducks, a Little Egret and a Peregrine.
 
2nd - At Clevedon there were 75 Shelduck,10 Wigeon, a Tufted Duck, a few Oystercatchers, a Golden Plover, a Grey Plover, 70+ Lapwing, 4
Common Snipe, 110 Curlew, 40 Redshank, a Green Sandpiper and 3 Stonechats.
