30th - A Merlin was seen at Dowlais Farm, Clevedon today.
 
29th - A late Whinchat was seen at Portbury Wharf today.
 
28th - A Short-eared Owl was the highlight during a wet visit to Clevedon today, also seen were c14 Little Egrets, 90 Wigeon, 41 Oystercatcher, 11 Ringed Plover, 12 Grey Plover, 175 Dunlin, 2 Snipe, 110 Curlew, 160 Redshank, a Green Sandpiper, 32 Turnstones, 4+ Rock pipits, a Stonechat, 10+ Fieldfare and 15+ Redwing.
 
25th - Today at Portbury Wharf there were 13 Little Grebe, 45 Wigeon (on the pools), 10 Gadwall, 5 Shoveler (new birds), 1 Ring-necked Duck, 28 Tufted, 4 Pochard, 53 Coot, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Water Rail, 1 Chiffchaff, 3 Redpolls (2 at end of Wharf Lane by seawall, 1 flew N).  At Clevedon there were 8 Little Egrets, 80+ Wigeon, 30+ Oystercatchers, 14 Grey Plover, 2 Knot, 140+ Dunlin, 100 Curlew, 115 Redshank, 16 Turnstones, 2 Wheatears and 12+ Fieldfare.
 
23rd - A single Wheatear was seen at the Salthouse fields, Clevedon today.
 
22nd - Correction to 18th report - This bird is now suspected to be the regular Ring-necked Duck in moult.  Also seen today were 17 Siskins, 2 Ravens and 3 Cettis Warbler at Portbury Wharf.
 
21st - At the Clevedon-Yeo today there were 12 Little Egret 140 Shelduck, 85 Lapwing, 3 Snipe, a Green Sandpiper, 420+ Bk-headed Gulls, 12+ Skylark, 2 Stonechats, a Wheatear and a Cetti's Warbler.
 
20th - A probable Lapland Bunting was seen/heard at Clevedon today along with 9 Little Egrets, 2 Ravens, 17 Grey Plover, c25 Turnstones and a Knot. 
 
18th - It would appear that the often present drake Ring-necked duck has found a partner with a local Tufted duck as a RND x Tufted Duck hybrid has been appearing at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve, it is described as follows 'It has classic RND bill but the flanks are not quite right and also it doesn't seem quite big enough in body size and beam for true RND. Most significantly, there is no gorilla head bump at all.'  Keep an eye out for it if you are visiting the reserve.   At the Clevedon Yeo today there were 40+ Shelduck, 70 Wigeon, 8 Little Egrets, 13 Grey Plover, 2 Knot, c35 Dunlin, 65+ Curlew, a Spotted Redshank (presumedly the regular bird in fine grey and white winter plumage), 110 Redshank, a GBB Gull and a Wheatear.  At Weston Moor there was a Little grebe, 2 Buzzards, 46 Snipe, 3 Chiffchaffs, 4 Stonechat, 3 Skylark, a Siskin and 4 Reed Buntings.
 
17th - At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve there were 15 Little Grebes, 3 Pochard, 39 Tufted (+ hybrid), 1 fem Goldeneye (back today), 52 Coot, 4 Snipe, 55 Redshank, 1 Greenshank, 23 Meadow Pipit, 11 Skylark and 6 Stonechats.
 
14th - On the coast at Clevedon today there were 40+ Shelduck, 60+ Wigeon, 15+ Teal, 15 Little Egrets, 42 Oystercatchers, 12 Ringed Plover, 13 Grey Plover, 10+ Lapwing, c30 Dunlin (no sign of winter flocks yet), 4 Snipe, a Bar-Tailed Godwit, c40 Curlew, 30+ Redshank, 36 Turnstones, a GBB Gull, a Wheatear and 6 Stonechats. Two Black-tailed Godwits were seen at Portishead.  The annual BOC migration watch from Clevedon produced less birds than in previous years but their was a steady stream of birds with the highlights being a pair of Yellowhammers which landed nearby and a raptor sp.  escaped I.D.  Wind light E.  Thanks to Jim, Bob, Richard, Roger, Howard and Richard for joining me.

11th - Highlights from Clevedon included 14 Little Egrets, 28 Oystercatchers, 10 Ringed Plover, 18 Lapwing, c40 Dunlin, 4+ Snipe, a Jack Snipe, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, c50+ Curlew, 10+ Redshank, a Common Sandpiper, 28 Turnstones, 4+ Rock Pipit, 3 Wheatear and 2 Stonechat.
 
8th - The drake Ring-necked Duck was seen at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve along with a Siskin, a Redpoll, a Fieldfare, 10+ Redwing, 15+ Song Thrush, 5 Wigeon, 3 Teal, a Kingfisher, 2 Cetti's Warblers and a Stonechat.
 
7th - A Tree Sparrow was a nice record migrating over Clevedon today along with 6 Mistle Thrush, a Fieldfare, a few Redpoll and Siskins.  Meanwhile on the coast there were 40+ Wigeon, 20+ Teal, 12 Little Egrets, 14+ Oystercatchers, 4 Ringed Plover, 40 Lapwing, 30 Dunlin, 2 Jack Snipe, 8+ Common Snipe, c40 Curlew, 90 Redshank, 4 Turnstones, a Green Woodpecker and a Wheatear.
 
6th - Migration from Clevedon included c1000 Chaffinch, 2 Brambling, 5 Fieldfare, 20 Siskin and a Merlin.
 
5th - Today at Clevedon there was a Peregrine, 20+ Stonechats (an influx), 2 Little Egrets, 40+ Redshank, 8 Grey Plover, 2 Ringed Plovers, 5 Wheatears and the usual Curlew, Shelduck and Oystercatchers.
 
3rd - Visible migration at Clevedon included a few Meadow Pipits, hirundines and Chaffinchs (i.e. very little) and 10 Redwings.  A Golden Plover was seen heading north.
 
1st - At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve today there were 26 Little Grebes, 35 Tufted ducks, 3 Pochard, 33 Coot, 2 Snipe and a 1 Greenshank. At Portishead boating lake there were 2 Med Gulls.
