30th - Over high tide at Clevedon this morning there were 12 Little Egrets, 38 Oystercatchers, c70 Dunlin, a Curlew Sandpiper, c40 Redshank, 22 Ringed Plover, 2 Bar-wits, c230 Curlew, 4 Turnstones, 20 Lapwing, a Green Sandpiper, c100 Shelduck, a few Wigeon, a Stonechat, a Whinchat and 3 Wheatears.  Hundreds of hirundines were milling around.
 
 
29th - A Ruff was a good find in amongst the waders at Clevedon today, also here where a first winter Little Gull and a Short-eared Owl.
 
25th - Today at Clevedon there were 6 Wigeon, 15 Teal, 110 Mallard, 22 Little Egrets(17 together at mouth of Kenn and 5 up Yeo), a Peregrine, 30 Oystercatchers, 6 Ringed Plover, 12 Knot, a Curlew Sandpiper, 75 Dunlin, a Bar-tailed Godwit, a Whimbrel, 40+ Curlew, 35 Redshank, 2 Greenshank, 5+ Turnstones and 6 Wheatears. A Little Tern was seen from Portishead and 2 Med Gulls were here.
 
24th -  A Manx Shearwater was seen from Ladye Bay along with 2 Arctic Terns.  A possible sighting of a  Grey Phalarope could not be confirmed.
 
22nd - A couple of reports from Portbury Wharf today - 39 Tufted Duck, (no sign of the Ringed Neck Duck  here or at ASW), 6 Whimbrel, 24 Redshank, a Peregrine, 1 Little Owl, 2 Green Woodpecker, 1 GS Woodpecker, 18 Meadow Pipit (new birds), 3 Swallow, 1 Whinchat, 3 Skylark, 1 Wheatear, 3 Cettis Warbler (2 new birds), 1 Raven, 6 Bullfinch, 2 Reed Bunting. 
 
21st - Six Blackcaps were the only new birds of note at Portbury Wharf today.  A Med Gull was at Portishead Boating lake.
 
20th - At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve today their were plenty of Chiffchaffs along with 3 Lesser Whitethroats.  2 Manx and 1 immature Kittiwake were seen off Portishead this afternoon. At Clevedon there was a Peregrine, 20+ Ringed Plover, 8 Lapwing, 8+ Knot, c50 Dunlin, a Whimbrel, a Bar-tailed Godwit, 3 Greenshank, a Common Sandpiper, 10+ Turnstones and 3 Wheatears.

17th  - At Clevedon today there were 45 Shelduck, 2+ Wigeon, 12+ Teal, 8 Little Egret, a Peregrine, 18 Oystercatchers, 32 Ringed Plover, 2 Curlew Sandpipers, 145 Dunlin, 1/2 Whimbrel, 80+ Curlew, 32 Redshank, 2 Greenshank, a Common Sandpiper, 16 Turnstones, 12 House Martin, 30+ Swallows, 2 Wheatears and a Chiffchaff.
 
16th - Reported from Clevedon today where c210 dunlin, 2 knot, 18 ringed plover, 2 turnstone, 7 wheatears, 1 peregrine, 3 bar-tailed godwit, c.120 curlew
 
13th - The Ring-necked Parakeet was reported again.  At the Clevedon-Yeo there were 9 Wigeon, a Teal, 14/16 Little Egrets, 27 Oystercatchers, 20 Ringed Plover, 8
Lapwing, 12 Knot, a probable Little Stint, 140 Dunlin, 3 Common Snipe, a Black-tailed Godwit, 4 Bar-tailed Godwit, 80 Curlew, 45 Redshank, a Greenshank, 3 Turnstones, 50 Swallows and 3 Wheatears. (thanks to Helen Horrocks for the following pics)
 
 
 
               
 
12th - Four Avocets were a very nice find at the Clevedon-Yeo today, also here were 10 Bar-wits, 4 Black-wits, 30 Knot, 200+ Curlew, 50 Redshank, 3 Turnstones, 3 Ringed Plovers and 6 Little Egrets.  In Clevedon town a Ring-necked Parakeet was seen (apparently it's been around for a couple of weeks).  At Portbury Wharf there were some new birds with 12 Canada Geese, 4 Wigeon, 6 Ringed Plover, 90 Knot, 3 Dunlin, 6 Black-wits, 18 Redshank 42 Curlew, 16 Chiffies, 9 Blackcaps, 6 Bullfinch and the usual coots and Grebes.
 
10th - At Portbury Wharf today there was a Peregrine, a Greenshank, 23 Tufted Ducks, 2 Great Crested Grebes, a Cettis Warbler and a Little Owl.  Breeding on the reserve this year included 11 Little Grebe broods, a Canada Goose brood, 1 Gadwall, 6 Mallard, 1 Tufted, 12 Coot and 4 Moorhen broods.
 
9th - No sign of the Ring-necked Duck today at Portbury Wharf where there was a Greenshank, 4 Snipe, c20 Teal, c10 Little Grebes, a Great Crested Grebe, c20 Tufted Ducks and a pair of Pochard.  At Clevedon there were 4 Mute Swans, 90+ Canada Goose(near the Yeo), 38 Shelduck, 8 Teal, a Pintail, 8/9 Little Egrets, 37 Oystercatcher, 18+ Ringed Plover, a Lapwing, a Knot, c45 Dunlin, 2 Snipe, 8 Black-tailed Godwits, 8 Bar-tailed Godwit, a Whimbrel, 120+ Curlew, c8 Redshank, 3 Greenshank, 5 Turnstones and a Wheatear.
 
 
8th - The Ring-necked Duck made one of it's regular visit to Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve today, also there were 7 Chiffchaffs, 4 Blackcaps, 2 Reed Bunting, a Water Rail, 3 Bullfinch, a Great Crested Grebe, 22 Tufted Ducks and the usual numbers of Coot and Little Grebes.
 
5th - At Clevedon today there were 8+ Little Egrets, 80+ Ringed Plover, 5 Red Knot, c70 Dunlin, one each of Black-tailed Godwit and Bar-tailed Godwit, 100+ Curlew, 25+ Redshank, a Greenshank, a Turnstone and a Wheatear.  The Dowlais farm area had 4 Wheatears and a Whinchat this evening.
 
4th - At Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve there were 16 Little Grebes, 10 Gadwall, 24 Tufted Duck, 36 Coot, 5 Buzzards, 2 Common Sandpipers, a greenshank (on the island) and 7 Chiffchaffs.
 
2nd - This morning at Clevedon there were 88 Canada Goose 88 at Dowlais Farm with another 7 up the Yeo, 10 Shelduck, 10 Teal, 3 juvenile Peregrines, 8 Little Egrets, 25+ Oystercatchers, 90 Ringed Plover, a Sanderling, 4 Knot, c300 Dunlin, 120+ Curlew, 6+ Redshank, 3 Greenshank, 2/3 Common Sandpipers, a Turnstone, a White Wagtail and 6 Wheatears.
 
1st - A quiet start to the month at Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve with 2 Cetti's Warblers, a Great Crested Grebe, c10 Little Grebes, c15 Tufted Ducks, 2 Gadwall and c100 House Martins of note.  A Hobby was seen on Weston Moor.
